Marie Walshe, M.A. (Hons.), G.D.P.S. (Hons.), B.A., Cert. Family Therapy, Reg. Pract. APPI, MCPI
Marie is a therapist in private practice, treating individuals, couples and children suffering from: anxiety disorders, chronic pain, depression, relationship breakdown, and stress disorders including PTSD, pre- and post-operative stress and work-related stress. Her clients range in age from 4 to 74. All treatment is confidential, discreet and professional.
Marie has a M.A. in Clinical Psychoanalysis (First Class Honours) and a Certificate in Family Therapy. She is a Registered Practitioner Member of the Association for Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis in Ireland [APPI] and the College of Psychoanalysts of Ireland (CPI).
Marie currently lectures in Independent Colleges on the Master’s and Higher Diploma programmes in the School of Psychotherapy, and on the Master’s in Dispute Resolution, in the Faculty of Law.
A regular contributor to academic and peer journals, Marie has been published in the academic journal, The Letter, and in The Review, a peer journal of APPI.
In addition to Critical Incident Briefing and Redundancy Support, she has presented seminars on ‘Bereavement and Loss’ and on ‘Anger Management’.
In her child & adolescent practice, Marie accepts self-referrals, as well as referrals from the primary care and psychiatric services, the Juvenile Liaison Scheme, the Family Support Agency and schools. Marie was an inaugural member of the A.P.P.I. Child and Adolescent Analysis group. This group, established 2003, brought together psychotherapists working in the education system, the health service, the justice system and private practice.
